Heat (much prefer real life) will kill germs. The liquid Tepidizer structure from the liquid Tuning research can be supplied to warm a body of water up.

The wiki states that 75 levels is the upper limit for Food Poisoning germs, but I believe they will start dying together you warm the water up past 50 levels or so.
